A neighbourhood that looks good, that’s free of trash and clutter, and that allows children to play without fear of being injured by debris or contracting parasites or diseases from rotting waste is one that residents and businesses can be proud of. If they’ve made the neighbourhood that way, they can take pride in themselves and their abilities as well.

Furthermore, a cleanup encourages residents to take ownership of the neighbourhood and keep it clean and healthy.

You can transform lives and communities by volunteering to do acts of kindness for the nature and its habitat.

Every year, volunteers in communities across Canada organize community-wide litter cleanups and park maintenance projects as part of the Green Canada community Cleanup Drive.

Join up with your neighbours, friends, family, and co-workers to clean up and beautify your neighbourhood or community. Green Canada Cleanup events can be scheduled for any time of the year, but generally, early spring and late fall are ideal for litter cleanups, with cooler temperatures and less vegetation.
