VOLUNTEER
GREEN CANADA
Start small by litter-picking!
Improving your natural environment is good for everyone’s health and helps to enhance community pride in a local area. Litter picking in groups helps to strengthen connections across a community and can be a fun and social activity to do with friends or neighbours.
Suppose you’d like to make a difference in your local community and set up. A litter-picking group, get in touch, and we’ll help you every step.
Or you can join one of our events and support our group and meet like-minded people wanting to make a difference in our children’s future and everything that matters.

Our Innovations and Goals
GREEN CANADA PLANS
Goal and Drives
It aims to bring communities together to clean and reduce environmental waste, create a sustainable future through projects that help reduce plastic pollution, and encourage long-term behavioral change.
cleanups don’t actually solve the problem
That’s true, and that is why we also have many other initiatives to control plastic pollution at the source – to help “turn off the tap.” However, cleanups remain an excellent, hands-on education tool for communities that are often unaware of plastic’s harm to the ocean and to our health, nor that it is in their power to do something about it. Even in countries where the issues are known, activities such as waste and brand audits of the trash collection can be eye-opening for many people.
Cost and Finance
There is no cost and need to sign-up for volunteers – show up at the designated time and place. Participating local businesses each month generously donate gloves and trash bags, food and beverages, and transportation when needed. All donations are given in kindle.
Plan
As of 25 June 2022, we have mobilized 837 volunteers to remove 154,134kg of litter in 20 events. Inquiries for new projects are reaching us weekly as the media spreads the anti-plastic message. Our goal for the next three years is to engage with more than 100,000 new Green Canada Heroes through events in 25 locations across Canada. An estimated 3000 tons of trash will be removed during these events.
